How we came to be
While proactively planning for the lives of their future children, the Cameron family soon realized homeschooling would be the most reliable path in the education of the youth. With the teachings of the world rapidly growing more malignant, the safety of students proving to be insecure, and the unaffordable pricing of private education, families are left to subject their children to the poor conditions of public schooling. This was the reality that was set before the family as they considered what the education of their future children would hold. A burden grew in their hearts for the children who would not have the privilege of learning from their parents at home. Through research, and prayer, the Lord revealed to them that they could be the change they wished to see. They seek to provide their community with an affordable, personal, and sound education with the biblical doctrine of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Heavenly Minded Academy began as a dream of the Cameron family and in 2023 the Lord made it a reality.
Meet the Founder
Sylvette Cameron is an educator that is passionate about health, child development and the Lord’s design of the family unit. Her journey in education began with coaching university-age students to achieve academic and career goals. She then spent a few years working with children on the Autism Spectrum where she practiced skills in early intervention and behavioral rehabilitation. Shortly after, she began volunteering at a non profit organization based in her home town. Here she served as a Program Coordinator where she handcrafted and taught curriculum to students in their early years of high school.

Through all of these positions, it became evident that there was a lack of affordable, and edifying education for Bible believing families. Fully believing in the homeschooling system, Sylvette aims to deliver that same experience to the children of those who are not in the position to do it themselves. She has been called by the Lord to a ministry of Christ-centered childcare and education for families who want to prepare their children to be well rounded servants of Christ.
